Title of the show is Maps to the Stars. Pulled from the Cronenberg film. The works are paintings of inverted autographed images of Bulle Ogier, Haydée Politoff, Monica Vitti, Juliette Binoche, Kim Basinger from 9 1/2 Weeks. And Stephanie Seymour. Final step after painting is the autograph which is punctured through, like Lucio Fontana Bucci series.

 

There is a satirical aspect for me. Desecration of icons. Like Cronenberg is always so ghostly, images in the paintings are treated the same and then there’s that paradox with the autograph... like were they ever really there?
